Position Description

Dynetic, a Leidos company, is seeking a talented Propulsion & Fluid Systems Analysis Section Manager. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. 

The Propulsion & Fluid Systems Analysis Section Manager will support Dynetics' development of space hardware for launch vehicles, spacecraft and ground systems. Candidate must have an understanding of analytical methods, development and utilization of thermal and fluid simulations, and application of analysis tools to produce models and perform analyses for a variety of aerospace-related products. The successful candidate is expected to be an individual contributor in support of space-related projects, and will be responsible for functional management of personnel performing thermal and fluid analysis to support various projects within the Dynetics' Space Systems Division. Management responsibilities include employee development, performance appraisals, administrative funcions, staff planning, interviewing/hiring new employees, and promoting, developing, and maintaining the corporate culture. This position is primarily a technical engineering function (80%) along with direct line management responsibility (20%). 

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Candidate must have at least 5 years of direct experience performing thermal and fluid analysis
  • Candidate is required to have proven working knowledge of typical fluid analysis software, such as Thermal Desktop, ANSYS, GFSSP, COMSOL, STAR CCM+, etc.
  • Candidate must be able to write technical reports and to present results to a multi-disciplined team

Other Qualifications

  • Preferred candidate will have experience working on projects to support NASA or the commercial space industry
  • Preferred candidate will have experience in a lead position, maintaining an area of responsibility over personnel and/or technical aspects of project execution
  • Candidate should have a desire to enter into a functional management role

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
