Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Advanced SMT Machine Technician to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

This position involves set up and operation of the machines used in manufacturing printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). Applicants must have strong understanding of surface mount technology process and a working knowledge of SMT components used in this process. Applicant should be able to troubleshoot and correct basic surface mount assembly problems. We desire applicants who are highly motivated and pay attention to detail. Applicants must be able to perform with high throughput and with minimal errors.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of SMT machines such as: Stencil Printer, Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) machine, Pick & Place machine, Reflow Oven, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machine, X-Ray inspection equipment
  • Experience working under a microscope
  • Understanding of J-STD-001 soldering process guidelines
  • Understanding of IPC-A-610 inspection requirements
  • U.S. Citizen

Other Qualifications

The following experience & qualifications are a plus:

  • DEK stencil printer experience
  • ASM placement platform experience
  • Koh Young SPI & 3-D AOI experience
  • Experience working with a MES system (Aegis FactoryLogix)
  • Achieved J-STD-001 soldering certification and IPC-610 inspection certification within the last 5 years.
  • Ability to solder leaded surface mount components with 0.4 mm pitch spacing
  • Ability to solder 0201 discrete packages
  • IPC 7711/7721 Rework certification within the last 5 years
  • Experience assembling electromechanical assemblies and cable harnesses
  • Experience reading the associated documents (assembly drawings, electrical schematics, etc.)
  • Computer skills associated with these assembly tasks (such as creating work instructions, parts lists, inventory reports, etc.)

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
