Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Senior Aviation Systems Embedded Software Engineer to join a multi-discipline engineering team developing software for aviation systems. Are you a software developer with varied technical interests and able to demonstrate your engineering skills? Are you a self-starter with experience working on an inter-disciplinary team to solve challenging technical problems?

As a member of the team, you will work closely with electronics integrated into a diverse range of aerospace and military systems including manned/unmanned ground/air vehicles, missiles, defensive radars, and space systems.

Looking for an opportunity to be in a fast-pace small team environment through all phases of the product life cycle from conceptual development and detailed implementation through manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support.

You’ll be responsible for developing robust software solutions. You primary job functions include architecting, implementing, and testing embedded software solutions targeting microprocessors, SoCs, and FPGAs.

You’ll have the opportunity to join forces and partner with other engineers and developers, project managers, technicians, and the customer to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements.

You’ll support resolution of technical issues that are discovered during the development, integration, and test of deliverable products. This will include troubleshooting issues, assessing bugs and deficiencies for root cause, and identifying corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications

Must possess or pursing of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mathematics from an ABET Accredited University.

Do you have at least 4 years of embedded software experience centered around microcontrollers, microprocessors, or FPGAs.

Can you demonstrate strong competency in software development in the C#, C++ programming language as well as various microprocessor assembly languages?

Do you have experience with communication protocols such as UART, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and CAN.

Do you have experience with software versioning and release cycles?

Do you have hands-on lab experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods for software and hardware.

Are you capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams?

Do you possess an aptitude for good object-oriented software design techniques?

Other Qualifications

If you have working knowledge of RISC microprocessor architectures such as ARM Cortex and PowerP and of the x86 architecture -APPLY

If you have experience in embedded operating systems such as Linux, VxWorks, Integrity, and FreeRTOS -APPLY

If you've worked with board support package development for RTOS -APPLY

If you have driver-level software development experience for various RTOS or Windows environments--APPLY

If you have working knowledge of ethernet-based networking protocols such as UDP, TCP, ARP, and IGMP-APPLY

If you have working knowledge of Python programming-APPLY

If you have working knowledge of memory architectures and caching-APPLY 

Security Requirements
