Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented RF Product Engineer for its Hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Product Engineering Department is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in advanced hardware-based solutions.  The selected candidate will be expected to provide leadership and technical direction related to RF components associated with a Hypersonic Missile production program.  With a product focus, the individual is also expected to actively partner with other engineers, project managers, technicians, customers and sub-contractors to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements. Additionally, the engineer will support resolution of technical issues that are discovered during the manufacture and test of deliverable hardware. Duties will include supporting design activities, developing production plans, supporting testing and troubleshooting components.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Candidate must have experience leading technical teams
  • Candidate must have at least eight (8) years of experience in RF hardware design
  • Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of design and testing of RF components including Antennas, LNAs, RF Switches, Splitter/Combiners, Duplexers and Cables
  • Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of design and testing of airborne receiver and transmitter systems
  • Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of RF test data
  • Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods including use of network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc.
  • Candidate must demonstrate design and use of custom RF test equipment
  • Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Position requires good written and verbal communication skills including technical presentation skills
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.5 or higher GPA

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:

  • GPS Test Experience including M Code and Anti-Jamming techniques

  • Design of Reradiation Systems

  • Developing exciter, transmitter, receiver and antenna subsystems
  • Modeling, simulation, design verification testing, and characterization of RF circuits
  • Design, test, troubleshooting, and manufacture of analog/mixed-signal electronic circuit card and/or integrated RF assemblies
  • Experience with manufacturing and production of RF components

  • Missile system flight test experience

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
