Position Description

Currently Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Radar Operations and Performance Engineer to promote study of threat radar system performance and operations. With offices across the Unites States engaging in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, Dynetics provides alert, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions.

The Engineer will be expected to guide the Radar Operations and Performance subgroup associated with all-source experts of foreign radar systems. The Engineer will be accountable for evaluating collected intelligence data and developing assessments concerning overall system performance and theory of operations. The Engineer will coordinate with other subgroup experts and will be tasked with identifying key radar operations, target detection theory, track performance, and waveform scheduling.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate will possess at least a bachelor’s degreein Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institute or a related technical field.  Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years overall relevant work with radar detection theory, performance in a jamming environment, and theory of operation across all radar modes.
  • In addition, the Engineer should have:
    • Prior background with government customers and/or large prime contractors.
    • Strong communication skills, capable of briefing high-level customers and writing technical reports.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville / North Alabama area.

Other Qualifications

Preferred knowledge / skillsets:

  • Past background performing foreign weapon system analysis
  • History of developing radar performance prediction models using engineering tools such as MATLAB or Python.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
