Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a Deputy Program Manager for Technical Integration to join a talented team of engineers and scientists within the National Intelligence Department.  With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) contract in the near future, Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a Deputy Program Manager for Technical Integration to support HLS and other programs as part of a diverse team that develops lunar landers, other cislunar spacecraft, and a wide range of critical technologies for civil, military, and commercial space programs.

The Deputy Program Manager for Technical Integration (DPM-TI) will report to the HLS Program Manager (PM). The DPM-TI will support the PM to ensure the program complies with the contract, satisfies technical requirements, delivers high quality products and services, meets or exceeds customer expectations, and meets or exceeds corporate standards for ethics and integrity.

Under PM direction, the DPM-TI will have authority for committing, assigning, and managing resources;

  • Managing integrated product teams (IPTs);
  • Communicating with the customer and teammates;
  • Managing the program technical baseline and performance;
  • Evaluating and reporting program health and risks to the customer and Dynetics management;
  • Making program-level decisions.

The DPM-IT will be responsible for managing technical integration across the team; supervising program personnel (team leads); managing the team’s interaction with the customer; and implementing PM-defined priorities.  The DPM-TI will also support the growth of the Space Systems Division and the company by fostering the growth and maturation of program management processes, training other managers, establishing best practices, and participating in business development activities as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, management, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Candidates must have at least 15 years of experience with defense, civil, and/or commercial space system engineering practices and processes, including the product development cycle through qualification and production.
  • Candidates must also have at least 10 years of experience managing projects as part of multi-company teams for the development of environmental, mechanical, and/or electrical hardware systems for NASA, DoD, or commercial programs.
  • Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the application of standard system engineering process such as documented in NASA SP-2007, Department of Defense (DoD) Instruction 5000.02 series/Defense Acquisition Guidebook, or equivalent commercial processes.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance in the future
  • Candidates must have background and working knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines:
    • project planning and scheduling,
    • structures and mechanisms,
    • propulsion,
    • thermal control,
    • avionics,
    • software,
    • production/manufacturing,
    • spacecraft mission operations.

Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama area.

Other Qualifications

  • Preference will be shown to candidates who possess advanced degree(s) engineering, business, management, or an equivalent degree(s) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Preferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge of the following:
    • 20 years of direct experience as detailed above
    • Space hardware development
    • NASA hardware development programs
    • Large-scale, human-rated space flight hardware development
    • Human rating of space vehicles
    • Earned Value Management (EVM)

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
