Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems.

We have offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive logistics, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

You will support the design, development, testing, and analysis of warheads and lethal mechanisms for DoD customers and utilize a broad engineering knowledge to perform engineering design and analyses in support of warhead development and test programs.

Activities will include CAD design, hydrodynamic modeling and analysis, test definition, test data analysis, coordination with lethality analysts, overseeing fabrication of prototype hardware, coordination with test agencies, test planning, and documentation of test and analyses.

Basic Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering degree is desired, multi-discipline engineering knowledge, skills and interests will be required to support the wide variety of design and testing activities.

Candidate must be a US citizen, and must be a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar is preferred.

Knowledge of blast fragmentation, shaped charge, Explosively Formed Penetrator, and/or penetrator warhead technologies is preferred.

Experience working in research and development (R&D) environment for DoD customers is a plus. Familiarity with SolidWorks is preferred.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
