Position Description

Are you an eager recent college grad or soon to graduate student looking for a fast-paced career in Aerospace Engineering? Then the Dynetics team is excited to tell you about this new position.

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is currently seeking to add a talented Weapon Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer to our diverse team of professionals who primarily focuses on the modeling, simulation, and analysis of foreign weapon systems.

In this role you will perform all-source intelligence analysis of foreign threat systems, with the potential for work on fixed wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), defensive surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs), Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Anti-Satellite (ASAT) systems, and other defensive systems.

Our customers require rapid turnaround of high-fidelity simulations to support the Warfighter and the Nation. The ability to mold specific requirements with numerous unknowns into a correct working representation is a daily task.

Regardless of the specific threat system, you will discover and exploit all available sources of technical information to develop detailed system and subsystem models and performance assessments. This will require a fundamental understanding of vehicle dynamics and controls, flight mechanics, aerodynamics, and propulsion, coupled with a solid base of programming experience and strong technical writing skills.

Basic Qualifications

Must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

Must possess a fundamental understanding of vehicle flight dynamics and controls, mechanics, aerodynamics, and propulsion.

Proficiency in computer programming (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C++) is preferred.

Candidate must have strong written communication skills, possess good people skills, demonstrate strong attention to detail and have the desire to work on a highly focused technical team of engineers, analysts, and scientists.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama area.

Other Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Special consideration is made for applicable experience in lieu of advanced degrees.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
