Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Research Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The selected candidate will be conducting in-depth engineering research and all source intelligence analysis of aircraft characteristics, performance, configurations and subsystems. This includes, but is not limited to, military, domestic and commercial aircraft. Aircraft types include all traditional fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft as well as unmanned aerial systems, cruise missiles and their associated engines and subsystems. The candidate will produce assessments detailing the capabilities and vulnerabilities of air systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate will possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, physics, or related degree from an ABET accredited institute (or be scheduled to graduate by August 2023).
  • Candidate will have at least two (2) years of relevant work history.
  • Candidate will document/boost studies and assessments with strong attention to detail as needed.
  • Candidate will scientifically derive performance parameters using industry standard formulas with limited variables.
  • Candidate will be able to develop/use specialized analysis and relevant software to ensure assessments are accurately reflected in technical libraries.
  • Candidate will utilize Microsoft Windows operating system, Microsoft Office tools and other PC based software.

 

Candidate will be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the San Antonio, TX area or be willing to relocate to the area.

 

 

 

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of aircraft systems as well as their associated users and usage is a plus
  • Knowledge of military technical order systems is ideal
  • All source research and scrutiny of intelligence data is preferred
  • Signal analysis, radar, communications or other RF systems expertise is a major plus
  • A current SECRET clearance is preferred

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
