Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Data Analysis Engineer to support the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB) Flight Test Program as part of the Hypersonics and Advanced Materials Division. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Data Analysis Engineer will be responsible for analyzing large and diverse data sets generated in support of a low-cost, high pace Hypersonics experimental payload development and test program. The position will have responsibility for coordinating with the test execution, analysis, systems engineering and design teams to ensure that test articles are appropriately equipped to collect the desired information during flight testing at the rates and quality necessary to inform future vehicle designs. Additionally, this role will require utilization and/or development of tools to increase the efficiency of test data analysis without compromising data quality. The program involves diverse technology areas including electronics, guidance, navigation and control, power generation, structures, payload integration, thermal protection, and system integration. The program will require effective collaboration with a large group of internal and subcontracted team members, with several geographically disperse places of performance and a complex multi-agency customer set.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Engineering or similar technical domain
  • Candidates must have a strong technical background in data analysis techniques/tools for the analysis of large, diverse datasets with at least 5 years of demonstrated experience
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated background in statistical analysis techniques utilized for the assessment of data quality and other features
  • Strong verbal and written skills along with a solid practical knowledge of testing and experimentation is required.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and be capable of functioning a effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidate must have experience in the following areas:
    • Experience supporting testing and experimentation of systems and subsystems
    • Proven experience managing to and meeting accelerated schedules
    • Effective communication of information between various functional disciplines as well as strong briefing skills
    • Proficient using MATLAB, Python, R or other programming languages for the analysis large datasets.
    • Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Other Qualifications

Candidates with any of the following additional qualifications will recieve greater consideration:

  • MS and/or 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience building custom tools for processing and analysis of large datasets
  • Demonstrated experience with techniques, including AI/ML, for data analysis tasks such as peak finding, noise extraction, pattern recognition, etc.
  • Experience implementing data analysis tools for real-time assessment of information to assist with testing
  • Working knowledge hypersonics and hypersonics flight technologies

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
