Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Deputy Program Manager to support the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB) Flight Test Program as member of the Advanced Materials Product Group. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Deputy Program Manager will assist the Senior Program Manager in leadership of all program management functions for a complex, diverse, multi-organization team involved with design, development, and flight testing of advanced technology/experimental missile systems and subsystems in support of a low-cost, high-pace Hypersonics experimental payload development and test program. The position will have responsibility for planning, tracking, and execution of complex tasking within technical, schedule, and budget constraints. The program will execute many tests with a large variety of experiments involving payload integration, thermal protection, and system integration. The program will also involve management complexity related to performance by a large group of subcontracted team members, interactions with multiple national labs as part of a “badge-less” team, several geographically dispersed places of performance, and a complex multi-agency customer set including MDA, Navy, Army, Air Force, DARPA and OSD organizations such as Hypersonics and the Test Resources Management Center (TRMC).

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree from and accredited institution.
  • Candidate must have a strong technical background in defense systems (or subsystems) with at least 12 years of experience in managing testing, planning, and/or scheduling in support of complex technical programs.
  • Strong verbal and written skills along with a solid, practical knowledge of complex missile or space systems, system integration, and/or associated testing is required.
  • Candidate must have strong leadership credentials, good organizational skills, attention to detail and work well as a key member of a team often tasked to be highly responsive and agile in order to satisfy critical technology development needs.
    • Disciplined, metric-driven program/task management
    • Proven experience managing to, and meeting accelerated schedules
    • Effective communication of information between various functional disciplines as well as strong briefing skills with Sr. Gov’t customers (SES, General Staff) and C-suite level leadership.
  • The candidate must be able to manage in the following areas:
    • Cost estimating and Budget management
    • Schedule Management
    • Organizational/IPT/Working Group development
    • Flight Programs (Missile, Space, or Rocket launch systems)
    • Prior ground test, launch and or flight test for complex missile systems is required
    • Leading a large and diverse team including industry, government and national labs
    • Strong understanding of implementing classified environments for programs
    • Strong understanding of hardware development, manufacturing, procurement, production, and integration
    • Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint

Must be a resident of the Crane IN area OR willing to relocate to the Crane IN area.

Other Qualifications

  • MS or PhD desired
  • Experience leading diverse teams, to include responsibilities for hiring, firing, and evaluation of staff is desired
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with current DOD Top Secret security clearance

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
