Position Description

Dynetics Technical Solutions, Inc. (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, Inc., is seeking a talented Risk and Opportunities Lead for its hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (C-HGB) and other Hypersonic initiatives. The C-HGB is the Army’s #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.

The selected candidate will have primary responsibility to coordinate identification, assessment, and documentation of technical, schedule, and cost risks along with development of risk reduction activities. The candidate will implement the program’s Risk Plan, will coordinate with all personnel including subcontractors and customers, and will be charged with soliciting inputs on courses of action to mitigate risks. The candidate will monitor and update the risk list; report risks, issues, and opportunities as they are identified; gather inputs from subject matter experts; and provide updates to the chief engineer and program management. The individual will interface with department leadership and project managers; design engineers; and component, test, safety, and quality engineers across the organization. Candidate will support chief engineer of system engineering efforts as needed.

Basic Qualifications

· Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in either Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university

· Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience of relevant engineering experience with some exposure to identifying, assessing, and documenting risks, and developing and tracking risk mitigation plans.

· Candidate must be able to write clear, concise, and comprehensive technical reports and to present results to a multi-disciplinary team and customer stakeholders.

· Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment both verbally and in writing.

· Candidate must have demonstrated ability to deliver results in a team environment and independently.

· Proficient in MS Tools suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc..)

· Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

· Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

  • Preference is shown to candidates with the following:
    • at least 2 years of systems engineering, project management, or engineering management experience.
    • Experience supporting DoD, NASA, or DARPA programs.
    • PMI Risk Management Professional or INCOSE ASEP
    • MagicDraw and/or other Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) modeling tools.
    • DOORS and/or other requirements database tools.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
