Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a passionate, detailed-oriented problem-solver to serve as a Design and Analysis Engineer to boost the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB) Flight Test Program as part of the Hypersonics and Advanced Materials Division. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides expedient, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The focus of the MACH-TB Program is to develop rapid-cadence, affordable flight-testing capabilities to quickly advance the hypersonic glide vehicle Technology Readiness Level. The successful candidate will promote design principals in the execution of mechanical design of hypersonic test vehicles and components utilizing 3D CAD software. Candidate will be accountable for applying sound mechanical engineering & design standards in the development of machined, structural, sheet metal, & composite component parts. Candidate will be accountable for Bill of Material development and component specification for mechanical assemblies as well as applying engineering design processes, such as design for manufacturing, drawing production, & PDM/PLM/configuration management, to the integration and development of mechanical and aerodynamic systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent, from an ABET accredited institution and with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Candidate will have experience with CAD software and 3D modeling. IE Solidworks, NX, ACAD or PTC CREO
  • May be needed to travel up to 20%

  • Strong oral and written skills

 

Candidate will currnetly reside in the Crane IN area or be willing to relocate to the Crane IN area

 

Other Qualifications

Prior background and demonstrated skill in any of the following areas is also a plus:

  • Project or People management
  • Knowledge of CAD/EPDM products (Solidworks and Windchill)
  • Knowledge of weapon systems, military hardware, or flight systems
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.100)
  • Knowledge of ASME drawings standards
  • Exposure to composites design drawings
  • Knowledge of FEM/FEA NASTRAN/FEMAP
  • Exposure to ANSYS or other CFD
  • Background with other Multiphysics modeling tools

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
