Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Lead Electronics Design Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Lead Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for designing for Space applications extending to the lunar surface. The engineer in this role will support Dynetics Space Division and Dynetics Product Engineering Department through design of space qualified hardware for various DoD, Intelligence and Commercial customers.

This position will define, design, integrate and test electronics performing high-reliability electronics development for booster, satellite, as well as lunar lander applications. Candidate will work with the customer and engineering team to help define requirements, architecture, and program plans to satisfy unique technical goals. The candidate should demonstrate experience with single event effects, total ionizing dose, and thermal vacuum technologies. Knowledge of part selection, component screening, radiation assurance testing, prohibited materials, and supply chain resources are required.

As part of this position, candidate will need to bring technical expertise to bear on unique challenges and problems. Project environments at times are fast paced and quickly changing due to a variety of influences.    This position will help ensure the engineering team (of which they are a member) and the customer (with whom they work closely with) are on the same page and able to overcome challenges (both technical and programmatic) that may arise. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree, from an ABET-accredited university
  • Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of digital device characteristics, design and simulations tools, test equipment, and design for signal and power integrity.
  • Candidate must have 5 years of experience demonstrating a strong technical background for space applications in one or more of the following technical areas:
    • Analog/Digital circuits
    • RF
    • Optics
    • Firmware
    • Programmable logic
    • Embedded systems

Other Qualifications

  • Candidate should demonstrate the ability to work well in a multi-disciplined team environment and work to find solutions to challenges involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working project management is preferred, especially management experience delivering electronic prototypes for the DoD community.
  • Experience working with Mentor DxDesigner and HyperLynx is a plus.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
