Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a FPGA Design Engineer to join a diverse team creating unique solutions for complex problems in the Defense industry. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics delivers custom engineered hardware solutions in a fast-paced environment which solve critical issues to our national defense. 

The FPGA Design Engineer will join our multidisciplinary team of engineers to solve technically challenging problems with innovative, cost-effective solutions in support of Army and Navy Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Our product development projects includes software, digital, RF, and networking elements, requiring our engineers to have a breadth of technical capabilities and a willingness to learn and adapt to rapidly deliver solutions valuable to our customers. Our team develops products that push the limits of technical feasibility to rapidly prototype experimental data link waveforms and RF/cyber threat systems for use in characterizing and testing tactical communications hardware. Our technical work provides insight to the government for acquiring cost-effective capabilities for fielding.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree, from an ABET-accredited university
  • 0-10 years of experience in a Product Development environment
  • Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog
  • Test equipment experience (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope)
  • Capable of problem-solving and debugging using research and available tools
  • Effective written and verbal communications for team collaboration and reporting


Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree, from an ABET-accredited university with >3.5 GPA is desired
  • Familiarity with communications data links for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.
  • The following technical skills are desired:
    • Software Defined Radio (e.g. GNU Radio/USRP)
    • Embedded Software Development
    • Linux (e.g. CentOS, Red Hat)
    • Digital Signal Processing
    • RF Circuit Development
    • IP Networking
    • MATLAB
    • C/C++


Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
