Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Usability Interaction Developer (UXD) to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
As part of a Usability Research and Evaluation team, this position will involve working with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), missile control systems, and other military and possibly commercial applications. This individual should be a well-rounded designer / programmer that can take concepts and generate low- to high-fidelity software prototypes for usability evaluations in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to select or design and build test systems to conduct usability evaluations including combining different hardware and software and possibly creating and working with virtual machines, including incorporating or designing UX measurement software.

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET accredited university.
Minimum five years of direct experience with creating low to high fidelity software prototypes and creating test systems. Familiarity with DoD weapons systems or Unmanned Aircraft systems is a plus.
Minimum five years experience with multiple programming languages and Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
Experience with C#, Java, C++, and Python is a plus.
Work with developers to ensure the designs are implemented as intended and that the integrity of the user experience is maintained in the final product.
Solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD) to be used in creative brainstorming sessions with project teams.
Participate in planning and conduct of user research, user testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, and usability & accessibility concerns.
Stay current with changing UI/UX design technologies, video gaming techniques, and industry standards to provide leading-edge interpretation and execution of design applications.
This is a customer-facing role, requiring excellent communication skills, initiative, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Candidate must be willing to travel at approximately 25% of the time to remote locations across the U.S.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently and to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design and be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism. Continually incorporate feedback and user testing results to improve the UX experience.
Familiarity with object-oriented design and Agile Scrum is a plus. Experience with Adobe Illustrator is also desired.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
