Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Senior Legislative Analyst to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
This position will support an Army customer with continuous analysis of congressional activities and personalities. As the on-site congressional expert in this office, candidate will track congressional legislation, hearings, and other activities that may impact Army acquisition programs and policies and produce summaries and reports of such activities. Of particular emphasis will be the annual defense appropriations and authorization bills.
Candidate may assist in the preparation of annual budget justification books, congressional appeals, testimony, issue papers, and fact papers. Other requirements include analysis of Government Accountability Office, Congressional Budget Office, and DoD Inspector General reports; preparation of senior officials for appearances before Congress; preparation of read-ahead materials for congressional staffer visits; coordination of responses to Questions For the Record; provide educational training on the budget process; and populating and maintaining legislative databases.IND3
Candidate must be a resident of the National Capital Region or be willing to quickly relocate there. Bachelor's degree in public policy/political science (or equivalent) and 10 years of experience, or a master's degree and 8 years of experience, are required.
At least some experience should be in a congressional office, Executive Branch liaison office, and/or political advocacy office.
Must be knowledgeable concerning the organization and functioning of the legislative branch of the government; the budget, authorization, and appropriation processes; and government and non-government web sites and search engines.
Proficiency in MS Windows, Word, and PowerPoint required.
Strong verbal, presentation, research, and writing skills are required.
Experience in Congress and an understanding of Army and DoD issues are a necessity.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
