Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking talented IT Developer Support to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space,cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The selected candidate will design, build, and maintain all components of the corporate infrastructure supporting code development efforts. This infrastructure provides services including source control, project management, bug tracking, and continuous integration. It contains an assortment of components such as Linux servers, data processing clusters, network storage devices, web servers, and authentication systems. The chosen candidate will be expected to establish positive working relationships with other team members and developers across the organization. Customer interaction will occur daily and the candidate should be prepared to help customers meet their goals while working within government regulations.



Basic Qualifications

This position will require a minimum of five years of experience supporting or utilizing developer tools within mixed Windows/Linux environments.


a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field with a minimum of two years of experience.

It will be necessary for the candidate to be adept at working with RHEL and other Linux operating systems, as well as Microsoft operating systems and environments.

Candidate should be capable and prepared to provide all tiers of customer support, including but not limited to:

  • Server OS and server application support
  • Client setup and troubleshooting for developer tools
  • General workstation troubleshooting
  • General network troubleshooting
  • System management potentially including installation, custom channels, deploying virtualized systems, basic client based security, repositories, and creating core builds
  • Creation and maintenance of basic RPMs and development and deployment of a core profile
  • Automation using basic Linux programming (C, Python, PHP, Perl, shell, etc.)
  • Management and deployment of physical and virtual RHEL systems
  • Creation of high availability clusters, understanding key issues when implementing cluster solutions for clients, and creation and management of file systems
  • Knowledge of a variety of virtualization technologies, setting up virtual environments using host and guest, and migrating from physical to virtual environments
  • Understanding of basic LDAP concepts and basic connectivity to Directory Server, NIS, AD, or other widely used authentication applications, security certificates
  • And completion of the Consultant Platform / Infrastructure Learning Paths through the Experienced Proficiency Level

The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of software development related tools, including, but not limited to: source control (Bitbucket, Git, Mercurial, Subversion), and project management/bug tracking (JIRA, FogBugz, Bugzilla).

Other Qualifications

The candidate should be prepared to discuss their prior positive experience working as or with software developers. Relevant certificates are also a plus.

Continuous integration (Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo) and webserver administration as related to these products.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
