Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Ground Station Systems Engineer for Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. This position will involve the identification of system requirements, development of hardware and software architecture, integration, and documentation of modernized Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Ground Control Stations (GCS) for Group 4 type aircraft. Areas of direct responsibility will be the evaluation, through trade study and other appropriate means, of alternate methods for achieving adherence to stated and derived requirements for the performance and capabilities of the aircraft system. The candidate will be responsible for development of plans, evaluation and documentation of alternatives, presentation to internal and external customers, and implementation of consolidated system development and integration plans.
The desired candidate will be familiar with and have experience with aircraft related software development, safety, airworthiness, and cybersecurity standards including (but not limited to) DO-178B, DO-178C, DO-254, and RMF cybersecurity accreditation requirements.
The desired candidate will be familiar with Group 4 unmanned aircraft operations in US Army and US Air Force theaters of operation, including aircraft flight operations, payload data collection and dissemination, tactical network integration, and RF data link topologies and methods.
The position will require excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills for interfacing with program management, government safety and cybersecurity personnel, and software development teams. The position will provide regular reviews, program milestones, and support required for successful system development, integration, and deployment.
Candidate must minimally possess a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited school in a technical discipline, preferably Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Candidate must have 5-10 years of experience working within a disciplined software and system development project environment.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
