Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented junior software developer to join a diverse team primarily focused on electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) modeling and simulation (M&S) efforts. The ideal software developer candidate will also demonstrate experience in and/or enthusiasm toward developing a broader technical capability to support overlapping engineering and scientific disciplines. Candidate will be required to support multiple tasks in parallel, productively contribute in a team environment, and communicate effectively to management, coworkers, and customers.
Candidate may work closely with a team of engineers and scientists to develop software solutions in a variety of disciplines including EO/IR sensor and target modeling, image processing, data analysis, and ongoing M&S efforts. Projects will range from user interface design, the implementation of algorithms from existing literature, optimizing and/or refactoring existing codebases into programming languages sufficient for existing M&S efforts, and developing software tools to support data modeling, manipulation, and analysis efforts.
The candidate may develop software tools for a variety of operating systems and platforms, including Windows, Linux, and GPUs. The candidate will use a variety of programming languages and applications, primarily C++ and Python, whereas an ability to quickly learn, read, and interact with other languages as required to complete tasks is also a job requirement.
IND3Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited university in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent engineering or scientific degree with demonstrated software development experience.
Candidate expected to have 2+ years of technical experience.
For junior candidates with <0-2 years work experience, preference will be given to those with GPAs higher than 3.4.
Candidate expected to demonstrate strong experience with object-oriented programming fundamentals and should be comfortable with code management, documentation, and version control tools.
Work to be performed in an expansion of existing capabilities in the EO/IR M&S field.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
