Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented System Administrator to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Systems administration and management related to all components of classified information systems on physical and virtual platforms. These systems may contain Microsoft Windows and/or Linux components such as data processing clusters, network storage devices, authentication servers, and workstations.

2. Documentation of current processes and proposing improvements to those processes.

3. Research of new technologies, best practices related to those technologies, and implementation plans to securely integrate new technologies into our environments.

4. Work pleasently and effectively with IT and Security team members, as well as the Dynetics user community in a professional manner to provide cost-effective, relevant, and responsive IT solutions.

The candidate must be able to adapt to and respond quickly to challenging problems. The candidate should be prepared to assist customers to meet their goals while working within various US Government policy frameworks.

Basic Qualifications

This position requires the candidate be compliant with DOD 8570 baseline certification requirements for IAT II with a current Security + CE or equivalent with an acceptable computing environment certification. Compliance may be obtained within 6 months of hire. (Windows, Linux, VMWare, Server+, and Storage computing environment certifications are a few acceptable examples.)

A minimum of five years professional IT experience administrating classified information systems is required.

  1. The candidate should be capable and prepared to provide all tiers of support to include resolving issues via phone, in person desktop and network problem resolution, and infrastructure support.
  2. The candidate will assist Information System Security personnel with documentation required for RMF compliance.
  3. The candidate will remediate system vulnerabilities identified from automated scanners by using Microsoft Group Policy and patch deployment techniques to maintain a compliant security posture.
  4. The candidate should have a strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, and Active directory. They should be able to deploy and correctly configure a new domain environment.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Candidates with the following will be given preference:

  1. Linux or other open-source operating systems certifications
  2. Knowledge of PowerShell and batch scripting
  3. Familiarity with US Government policies, procedures, and directives (e.g., NIST 800-53, NISPOM, JSIG, and/or DCID Memorandums)
  4. Familiarity with SCC scanner and DISA STIGs
  5. Knowledge of data redundancy architectures and virtualization technologies
  6. Possession of a Top Secret clearance

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
