Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Junior Information Technology specialist support to join a diverse, highly-skilled team to create unique solutions for complex problems involving foreign weapons systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective intelligence, engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Leverage experience in network engineering to design, configure, test, and deploy network, server, and storage solutions in DoD and commercial environments, using IT standards and direction from various stakeholders. Install and validate LAN and WAN solutions in accordance with networking best practices. Design network architectures in accordance with applicable security requirements and document the network with the appropriate technical diagrams and artifacts.

Demonstrate knowledge of and experience with the implementation of Layer3 routing protocols and Layer2 switching.  Diagnose network-based problems and factors affecting network performance. Participate in projects as part of a team of engineers, showing willingness to expand technical expertise to increase the impact of contributions across the team and client mission.


Basic Qualifications

Associate Degree in Information Systems or a minimum of two years’ experience in IT

  • Evaluate, test, recommend, and implement specific network solutions, including desktops, servers, printers, other network attached devices, and LAN infrastructure for multiple assigned customers.
  • Require general to little direct supervision to handle routine to highly technical problems with demonstrated adequate to good communication skills.
  • Maintain documentation for the customer, including inventory, ticket tracking, backup and disaster recovery plan, maintenance contracts, asset lifecycle, and assigned project work.
  • Implement STIG’s for customer systems and provide feedback to system owners for POAM updates
  • Manage vendor warranty and break/fix work. May assist in the desktop/server/LAN procurement process.
  • Report and work with team lead to set priorities for daily/weekly activities and customer needs.
  • Provide strategic planning and technical support to determine information technology needs for the customer.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.


Other Qualifications

  • Cisco and/or Microsoft Certifications preferred
  • Security+ Certification

Security Requirements

U.S. Citizenship and a current Final Secret Clearance is required with the ability to meet applicable program security eligibility requirements for the position. Must be able to maintain a Final Secret Clearance along with meeting and maintaining program security eligibility.
