Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Propulsion Design Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The selected individual will serve as Propulsion System Design Engineer for fast-paced projects focused on design and test of a new systems. The individual will interface with department leadership, project engineers/managers, mechanical designers, analysts, component engineers, test engineers, systems engineers, safety, and quality within Dynetics. The individual will support diverse projects in the Space Systems Division involving space technologies, missile systems, subsystems, and systems.
Primary responsibilities for the individual will be:
The position requires a B.S. or equivalent degree in engineering, preferably aerospace or mechanical AND at least five (5) years of propulsion design, analysis, and systems engineering experience.
Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with defense, civil, and/or commercial space engineering practices and processes, including the product development cycle through qualification and production.
Candidates must have experience with the liquid rocket propulsion systems development process, including an understanding of mechanical design, thermal and structural analysis.
Candidates must have demonstrated an ability to deliver results in a team environment and independently.
The position requires occasional travel.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Additional experience with turbomachinery design, cryogenic and storable propellants, thermal, fluid, and mechanical systems engineering, as well as analysis of other space or missile systems is preferred.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Motivated self-starter and problem solver with experience executing in multi-disciplinary teams.
