Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Senior Assured Microelectronics Scientist to help create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

A successful candidate will work closely with a highly technical, multidisciplinary team consisting of scientists and engineers to develop a strategic plan for microelectronics assurance activities to support the Department of Defense.  The candidate will be expected to present the plan to customers and stakeholders. 

The candidate will be expected to identify laboratory equipment as well as processes and procedures necessary to implement the vision in a DoD owned laboratory.  The candidate will be expected to be familiar with X-Ray, visual microscopy, and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The candidate will be be expected to develop and execute test plans to support assurance activities at both the component and the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) level. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to data collection and analysis, preparation of measurement/analysis reports, and presentation of findings to stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an ABET accredited school in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience in assurance and/or failure analysis activities.

  1. This includes the use of assurance and failure analysis tools and techniques such as Scanning Electronic Microscopes, X-Ray, and Visual Microscopy. 
  2. Additionally, this position requires an understanding of modern integrated circuit and PCB failure analysis techniques and applicability to assurance activities. 
  3. Must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional laboratory environment. 

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

An ideal candidate would posess the following skills: 

An advanced knowledge of a broad range of failure analysis and assurance equipment. This includes advanced usage and basic maintenance, as well as experience with both integrated circuit and PCB level analysis.   


Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
