Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Electronics Engineering Lead to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Product Engineering Department is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in advanced hardware products. The individual selected for this position will be a design engineer with demonstrated experience designing for space applications extending to the lunar surface. The engineer will develop space-qualified hardware for various DoD, Intelligence, and Commercial customers. The individual must be a self-starter with experience leading inter-disciplinary teams to solve challenging technical problems.

The selected candidate will be expected to lead a small team in a fast-paced environment through all phases of the product life cycle from conceptual development and detailed design through manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support. The engineer will be responsible for the architecture, detailed design, integration, and testing of high-reliability electronics developed for booster, satellite, and lunar lander applications. Candidate will work with the customer and engineering team to help define requirements, architecture, and program plans to satisfy unique technical goals. The candidate should demonstrate experience with single event effects, total ionizing dose, and thermal vacuum technologies. Knowledge of part selection, component screening, radiation assurance testing, prohibited materials, and supply chain resources is required.

With a product focus, the individual is also expected to actively partner with other engineers, project managers, technicians and the customer to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements. This position will help ensure the engineering team (of which they are a member) and the customer (with whom they work closely with) are on the same page and able to overcome challenges (both technical and programmatic) that may arise. Basic Qualifications

Candidate must posses a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

Candidates must have atleast 5+ years of experience developing electronics for space applications.

The candidate must have expertise in digital/analog/mixed signal, RF, or optical electronics system design.

The candidate must have experience in hardware design and test from architecture through implementation.

The candidate must have experience in the design, test, troubleshooting, and manufacture of complex multi-layer electronic circuit card assemblies.

The candidate must have experience with PCBA design and troubleshooting in the area of embedded processors, microcontrollers, or VHDL-based FPGAs; or with detailed switched-mode power supply (SMPS) design.

Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL are

 

Other Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Mentor Graphics electrical engineering development tools.

Experience with multiple high-speed serial communication standards and memory interfaces (e.g. GigE, 10 GigE, Aurora, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4, JESD204B, PCIe, SATA).

Experience with rigid-flex, microvia, blind via, and buried via printed circuit board design.

Experience managing design teams including technical leadership, budgeting, and scheduling.

Perference shown to candidates with a GPA 3.3 or higher.

 

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
