Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking talented Radar Systems Engineers and Analysts to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. The Engineer or Analyst in this role will support Radar Technology programs including simulation and analysis; system/component performance assessment and verification; and testing of acquisition, track, and discrimination radar algorithms. Candidates should be familiar with or willing to learn basic radar theory with an emphasis on being able to analyze, assess, and characterize performance of radar data processing components such as signal processors, electronic protection (EP), tracking, and discrimination.
Candidates will use data analysis techniques to evaluate system performance impacts of radar algorithm, database, and/or parameter updates and perform root cause analysis of observed behavior. This position may also include the analysis and modeling of radio frequency (RF) electronic warfare (EW) techniques including electronic attack (EA) and electronic protection (EP) concepts.
Candidates will apply a combination of effective communication and collaboration skills with strong technical interests/capabilities to work with a highly technical and dynamic team of engineers and scientists solving challenging technical questions about complex radar systems.IND3
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Math, Applied Physics, or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited university and provide evidence of a strong academic record.
Candidates with advanced degrees in STEM disciplines and/or direct experience working with MDA radar systems are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants with 0 - 5 years of experience will be considered for this position.
Candidate must have excellent math skills and/or understand fundamentals of electromagnetics, signals and systems, digital signal processing, and data analysis techniques. Candidate must have the capability to apply these skills in the following areas: radar/systems modeling and analysis, algorithm and data evaluation, RF signal generation and evaluation, and/or simulation in digital and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) environments.
Candidate should be a motivated self-starter and problem solver. Experience executing in multi-disciplinary teams and rapidly learning new material is a plus.
Position requires strong analysis skills. Familiarity with signal processing, probability and statistics, and basic software design principles are a plus. Proficiency with or willingness to learn MATLAB/Python and gain familiarity with compiled software languages such as C/C++ is a plus, as well as interest in a broad array of radar topics.
Candidate and must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Candidate must have good communication and collaboration skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.
Ideally, candidate will have an interest in, and exposure to, complex radar systems (such as the AN/TPY-2, SBX, LRDR, CD, and UEWR BMDS radars).
Candidates with experience in radar analysis and/or modeling & simulation are preferred.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
