Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Mid-Level Software Test Engineer to join a multi-discipline engineering team. The team is developing multiple tactical decision aid software products and utilizes cutting-edge software tools and processes in order to implement and deliver releases to multiple DoD customers. This position focuses on automated testing, development of robust, innovative software test infrastructures and frameworks, integration testing, informal manual testing, formal software qualification testing, software airworthiness, fielding and support, and maintenance of software products. Software products are applied to manned aircraft, UAS, weapon systems and other military aviation applications. Software products range from analysis tools/simulations, mission planning software, and components of mission-critical systems. This test position involves direct participation as an integral team member who performs key roles with respect to test planning, test strategy and design, test execution, software engineering processes, and recommendations on product quality. This position also involves reviewing, editing, and generating various documents used for engineering and testing purposes per industry standards.IND3
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited school in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree. Candidate should have 5-10 years of relevant, applicable technical experience.
Being self-motivated, paying attention to details, and working under deadlines are key elements of this position as well.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Experience designing object-oriented software is a plus.
Experience writing automated tests against external software APIs is a plus.
Candidate should have a desire for a long-term technical career path in test framework development.
Experience with UAS interoperability standards is a plus.
Experience with weapon performance data, integration, and testing is a plus.
Experience with geospatial datasets including raster, vector, and terrain data is a plus.
Candidate is expected to mentor junior testers and provide constructive feedback.
Experience with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178B and/or DO-278, RMF) or automated testing techniques is a plus.
The ability to work across multiple products under development by multiple small teams is highly desirable.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
