Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Lead Architect to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Lead Architect will define and implement strategy to shape existing and new products into key market segments; collaborate with existing and potential customers; participate and lead capture, bid/proposals; decompose difficult and unclear customer expectations to enable program bids and execution; and work with the execution team to ensure Dynetics strategy and customer vision are implemented.  Candidates will collaborate across multiple disciplines to include mechanical, electrical, software, modeling, simulation, safety, and reliability to identify applicable requirements and deliver a mature product for use in a tactical environment.  Diverse products will focus on custom electronics development for military environments with overlap into Space and Commercial applications where applicable.


Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Candidates must have at least 7+ years of direct experience in electronics design and development for complex subsystems involving hardware, firmware, and support equipment.

Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of the Systems Engineering life-cycle for requirement traceability.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience in proposal writing and/or business development.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience in product road-maps and use of internal investments to drive overall strategy.

Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.


Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who posses a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge with:

  • Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Risk Management
  • Missile Systems and electronic subcomponents
  • Radar Systems and electronic subcomponents
  • DoD 5000 Contractor Program/Project Management Experience
  • Understand Intellectual Property rights


Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
