Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Ground Control Station (GCS) Systems Integrator to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems related to US Army and US Air Force Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) software and hardware configurations. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

This position will perform evaluation of GCS configurations, with an emphasis on system modernization and capability enhancements, involving hardware and software selection, system build and configuration, test, and reporting in a dynamic lab environment.

The work will entail evaluation and definition of system-to-system data exchanges, definition of system startup and shutdown requirements, evaluation of system resource requirements, and system integration with the goal of adhering to Concept of Operations (CONOP) and Concept of Emplacement (CONEMP) as defined by the system owner.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must either possess a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science OR an Associate’s Degree with 7 years of applicable work experience.

  1. Candidate must have 2 or more years of experience working with UAS Ground Control Stations.
  2. Candidate must have experience with both Windows and Linux CLI operations.
  3. The candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of US DoD cyber security standards and practices, including application of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for achieving Authorization to Operate (ATO) of tactical weapon systems.
  4. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of system virtualization techniques utilizing products such as VMWare ESXi and Red Hat Linux KVM.
  5. The candidate must have subject matter expertise in the area of scripting languages and techniques which are utilized in the automation of system startup, configuration, and shut down.
  6. The candidate must have a working knowledge of data dissemination methods which are used to exchange data across system enclave boundary using DoD accepted practices involving multicast routing of Motion Imagery (MI), still images, and web based traffic.

The candidate will be required to produce and peer review technical documentation.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Experience with the following is preferable:

- Linux operating systems (RHEL and CentOS)

- Software installation and configuration in Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows environments

- Cisco and Juniper brand routers and firewalls

- Experience with multiple programming languages is a plus.
