Position Description

Dynetics Technical Solutions, Inc. (DTS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dynetics, Inc., is seeking a talented Manufacturing Business Development Lead to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

This position reports to the Manager of the Manufacturing Solutions Division. 

  • Leads business development efforts for a manufacturing organization providing high value mechanical components and systems for large  defense and aerospace programs.

  • Works closely with internal and external customers to identify, develop and implement capture strategies and lead proposal efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain key customer relationships.

  • Act as the principal point of contact with prospective customers to include major prime contractors and DoD agencies.

  • Lead and execute business development activities in accordance with strategic plans developed by senior management.

  • Prepare detailed, extensive RFI/RFP responses and participate in contract negotiations.

  • Contact potential customers to identify opportunities to employ our broad range of corporate capabilities to provide best value solutions.

  • Negotiate teaming agreements and strategic partnerships

  • Attend industry days and plan/support trade shows.

  • Work with customers to shape win-win procurement strategies for future projects.

  • Design and execute marketing strategies for company products and capabilities.

Basic Qualifications

The successful candidate will be an experienced business development professional with a proven track record of capturing and winning large programs for defense and/or aerospace contractors.  This job is for a self-starter, capable of developing an effective plan for implementing corproate business development strategies and operating efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and three (3+) years of applicable experience OR seven (7+) years of relevant experience in lieu of a BS degree.

  • Department of Defense industry experience is highly preferred.

  • Strong technical aptitude is required to understand requirements and present our broad range of technical capabilities.

  • Solid understanding of common office technology, including Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Proven track record of managing projects, negotiating and closing business deals, and maintaining positive long-term business relationships.

  • Ability to solve complex problems and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and with a high degree of autonomy

  • Domestic travel is approximately 25%, but could be higher if required to achieve emergent business objectives and deliverables.

  • Must have significant experience in the DoD and Aerospace industries

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
