Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Cable Assembly Test Technician to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The primary responsibility for the Cable Assembly Test Technician will be performing electrical test on cable assemblies. The Test Technician will be expected to be able to read a cable assembly drawing and program the cable tester. Candidates will be required to have the computer skills associated with these assembly tasks, including corporate production control processes, creating documents and spreadsheets for manufacturing information such as work instructions, parts lists, inventory reports, etc. Additional responsibilities may include cable assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, and inspection. This position will work on a variety of products to include both military and commercial customers.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Experience programming and operating electrical test equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical principals to understand and trouble-shoot the electrical test equipment.
    • Testing includes continuity, shorts, insulation resistance, and dielectric withstanding voltage tests (Hi- Pot).
  • Experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

 

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who possess an Associate Degree in a related field.

Preferred candidates will also meet some of the following:

  • Active certification to IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • Experience with cable assembly and cable harness fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and general mechanical assembly
  • Experience with theCami Research CableEye test system

 

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
