Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The DSP Engineer will support diverse projects in a design-focused group of engineers that specialize in advanced hardware products.  The engineer will be expected to disassemble digital signal processor (DSP) software and analyzing FPGA DSP blocks from foreign missiles and radars in order to understand the algorithms required for tracking, guidance, and counter-countermeasures.  The engineer will develop test benches, both hardware and software, to characterize the signal processing chain. The engineer will also support weapon system testing and instrumenting the systems for data logging purposes. The DSP Engineer will work closely with electronics integrated into a diverse range of aerospace and military systems including manned/unmanned ground/air vehicles, missiles, defensive radars, and space systems.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Candidate must have experience designing hardware using DSPs.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience using FPGAs for signal processing.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience constructing DSP algorithms for transformations, filtering, detection, and common signal processing techniques.

The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

 

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Preferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:

  • Debugging of complex devices or systems using standard digital and analog test equipment
  • General purpose microprocessors in a hands-on environment

 

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
