Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a Senior Flight Dynamics Analyst to join a diverse, highly-skilled team in aerospace systems design and simulation. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Senior Analyst will support development of various aerospace vehicle systems such as satellites, constellations, launch vehicle, aircraft and missile systems. The analyst will perform detailed analsyis of flex/rigid body simulations, separation dynamics, orbit dynamics, trajectory analysis, and vehicle sizing.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in an Engineering discipline or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Candidates must have at least (10) ten years of related experience.

Candidates must have knowledge and use of one of the following multi flex-body 6DOF simulations:

  • TREETOPS
  • ADAMS
  • DSENDS

Candidate will be expected to work in a range of tools and programming languages such as Python, Octave, MatLAB, Simulink, FORTRAN, and/or Java.

Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

 

Other Qualifications

Preferred candidates will also meet some of the following:

  • Experience in OTIS, POST, TAOS, Copernicus, GMAT, or Systems Tool Kit
  • Experience in modeling and simulation (i.e 3DOF, 6DOF, Monte Carlo’s, etc.) of aerospace vehicles and be knowledgeable in both aircraft and spacecraft design.
  • Knowledge in the disciplines of aerodynamics, orbit mechanics, trajectory simulation and analysis, optimization studies, mass properties, and conceptual design.
  • Ability to write their own tools and adapt to a wide range of disciplines

 

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
