Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Applications Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, costeffective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Application Engineer in this role will work with automotive customers, as well as with Dynetics team members to develop and support Dynetics automotive test products used in facilities across the United States and some international locations. Candidate will develop, maintain, and support hardware and software applications running in production-critical environments. This position requires an understanding of basic hardware interfacing, as well as the ability to assist troubleshooting system problems remotely. Skills used to perform this work include software programming, computer networking and networking related concepts, and hardware interfaces. The position requires supporting production-critical systems in multiple locations both during and after normal working hours.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university

Candidate will be required to demonstrate knowledge of C++/C#, Windows Forms and event-driven applications, and have the ability to develop and maintain object-oriented, reusable software.

Candidate must have a minimum of (2) two years of relevant experience. (Internships and co-op positions are acceptable to meet this requirement).

Candidate must be comfortable interfacing with customers and field engineering personnel.

Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Some travel is expected with this position (<10%).

Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

Candidate must be a resident of the Madison County, Mississippi area or willing to relocate to the Canton/Jackson, Mississippi area. 

 

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.3 or higher GPA.

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge with:

  • Visual Studio and with debugging applications 
  • An understanding of basic networking (TCP/IP, UDP, FTP)
  • Internet software development and/or databases skills
