Position Description

The role of Assistant Contractor Special Security Officer (ACSSO) is responsible for assisting the Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in administering and maintaining security requirements for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined parameters, procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.

The Assistant Contractor Special Security Officer (ACSSO) will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in processing and submitting SCI clearance packages
  • Assisting in processing and scheduling polygraphs
  • Assisting in ensuring that the programs maintain compliance with company and government regulations;
  • Assisting with the daily activities and priorities of the security program including, but not limited to, physical security, access control, field daily security requests/issues, assist Contractor Special Security Officer and Section Supervisor with investigations, information security, and personnel security measures within the SCIFs;
  • Assist in establishing security processes and procedures that satisfy quality, schedule, overall performance, and financial parameters according to both company and customer expectations;
  • Assist in providing overall SCI Level Security to include OPSEC, Classification Management, Security Awareness, COMSEC, conducts security reviews of technical papers, and DD 254.
  • Assist IA/IT Support Staff.
  • Additional duties will also include administering security indoctrinations and debriefings, self-inspections, audits, visitor control, process of foreign travel and foreign travel debriefings, process requests for investigations, prepare billet request, and ACCS functions.
  • Perform courier duties to customer site and post office.

Other security-related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

At least ten (10) years of experience in Industrial Security with solid knowledge of the NISPOM and ICDs, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. BS degree with 6 years of applicable experience or AAS degree with 8 years of applicable experience.

  3. Ability to multi-task to accommodate deadlines.
  4. Excellent organizational skills.
  5. Action oriented to see projects through completion.
  6. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Strong MS Office computer skills.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Experience with ACCS, Scattered Castles, and SIMS are desired.

Experience with Contract Security activities (i.e. DD254s, reviewing contracts, subs, etc.) are desired.

Security + certification is desired.  

Security Requirements

U.S. Citizenship and a current Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance with SCI eligibility is required. Must possess active SCI clearance with current investigation (within last 4.5 years) and be able to maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
