Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Embedded Systems Design Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. The Product Engineering Department is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in advanced hardware products. The individual selected for this position will be a design engineer with varied technical interests and demonstrated engineering skills. The individual must be a self-starter with experience working with inter-disciplinary teams to solve challenging technical problems. The engineer will work closely with electronics integrated into a diverse range of aerospace and military systems including manned/unmanned ground/air vehicles, missiles, defensive radars, and space systems.
The Embedded Systems Design Engineer will be expected to execute in a fast-paced, small team environment through all phases of the product life cycle from conceptual development and detailed implementation through manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support. The engineer will be responsible for developing robust software solutions. The engineer’s primary job functions include architecting, implementing, and testing embedded software solutions targeting microprocessors, SoCs, and FPGAs.
With a product focus, the individual is also expected to actively partner with other engineers, project managers, technicians and the customer to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements. Additionally, the engineer will support resolution of technical issues that are discovered during the development, integration, and test of deliverable products. This will include troubleshooting issues, assessing bugs and deficiencies for root cause, and identifying corrective actions.IND2
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
Candidate must have at least (5) five years of design experience centered around microcontrollers, microprocessors, or FPGAs.
Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, JAVA, Ada, Rust, assembly.
Candidate must have experience with communication protocols (UART, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, CAN).
Candidate must have experience with software versioning and release cycles.
Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods for both software and hardware.
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preference shown to candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.5 or higher GPA.
