Position Description

Dynetics is an employee-owned company seeking a talented Computational Aerodynamics Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Dynetics is seeking an aerospace engineer focused on the application of state-of-the-art Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes and methodologies to real-world missile, munition, aircraft, UAS, and launch vehicle flowfield physics, including multi-species flow and multi-body problems.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must have a MS Aerospace Engineering degree and a minimum of 3+ years experience in CFD software application and analysis are required.

To be considered for this position, a candidates must also be:

  • Familiar with the development and application of CFD tools to aerospace problems involving both analysis and design
  • Able to perform applied aerodynamic analyses using computational results
  • US citizen

Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are required, as the successful candidate must function effectively in a team environment and interact with program stake-holders.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

The following skill sets are also desired and will strengthen a candidate's potential for selection:

  • Experience in applying state-of-the-art CFD tools such as OVERFLOW, USM3D, FUN3D, DPLR, Kestrel, and Helios to simulate missile and aircraft flowfields (internal/external)
  • Efficient programming in Fortran, C++, Python using UNIX/Linux OS
  • Familiarity with grid generation software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Experience in chemically reacting flows, turbulence modeling, Chimera-Overset gridding, aerothermal modeling, aeroacoustics, blast-wave propagation, computer cluster administrative tasks, and parallel programing.

    Security Requirements

    Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
