Dynetics is seeking a talented DSP Algorithm Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Foreign Weapon Systems branch goals include the characterization, analysis, testing, and defeat of all types of threat weapons systems including foreign missiles and radars. This group concentrates primarily on electrical, sensor, optical, and firmware aspects of the systems, but will engage any part of the system that advances our goals. Our team develops equipment to control and test these threats in a Hardware-in-the-Loop environment. We also specialize in the development of countermeasure concepts and equipment.
The DSP Algorithm Engineer will analyze the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) firmware and FPGA DSP blocks from foreign weapons to understand the algorithms utilized for tracking, guidance, and counter-countermeasures. The goal of this analysis will be to describe the threat capabilities and vulnerabilities against the U.S. systems that oppose it. Test benches will be developed to verify analysis and further characterize the signal processing chain. Weapon system instrumentation and testing will be supported for data collection purposes. Once analysis is complete, efforts will continue towards developing countermeasures for the threat system in order to ensure its defeat in combat.IND2
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.5 or higher GPA.
Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of designing hardware using DSPs.
Candidate must demonstrate competence using FPGAs for signal processing.
Candidate must demonstrate competence constructing DSP algorithms for transformations, filtering, detection, and common signal processing techniques.
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
