In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) contract in the near future, Dynetics Computer Applications department is seeking qualified engineers and analysts to support NASA programs; including the history-making Human Landing System that will put the first woman and next man on the Moon. We are seeking project engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, electrical/mechanical engineers, stress/structural engineers and analysts to join a diverse team in support of the development of a Human Lander System that will take us back to the surface of the Moon by 2024.
Dynetics is seeking a talented Software Test Engineer to join a multi-discipline engineering team developing software verification and validation (V&V) for NASA HLS systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. This position focuses on verification and validation using automated testing, development of robust, innovative software test infrastructures and frameworks, integration testing, informal manual testing, formal software qualification testing, fielding and support, and maintenance of software products. Software products range from analysis tools/simulations, mission planning software, and components of mission-critical systems. This test position involves direct participation as an integral team member who performs key roles with respect to software test planning, test strategy and design, test execution, software engineering processes, and recommendations on product quality. This position also involves reviewing, editing, and generating various documents used for engineering and testing purposes per NASA standards.IND2
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Candidate should have 3-5 years of relevant technical experience with a BS degree or 0 – 3 years of experience with a MS degree.
1. Candidate must demonstrate basic competency in software development in either C++, Java, Python, C#/.NET, or Ruby programming languages.
2. Strong analytical and process improvement skills along with a personal drive for details and quality workmanship are a must.
3. Candidate must possess an aptitude for the technical skills required for software test, configuration management, and software quality engineering concepts.
4. The applicant must demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
5. The applicant must have good communication skills.
Being self-motivated, paying attention to details, and working under deadlines are key elements of this position as well.
Candidate must demonstrate a pattern of ethical decisions and a commitment to integrity at the individual level that conform to Dynetics’ Code of Ethics.
Candidate must be a resident of or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Experience developing test methods and procedures for software products using scripting and/or compiled languages is preferred.
Experience writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies is preferred. Experience writing unit and integration tests with unit test frameworks is preferred.
Experience with NASA or other spaceflight avionics development projects.
Experience with CMMI-3 best practices & policies and an understanding of Agile software methodologies (e.g. Scrum).
Candidate is expected to accept constructive feedback from more senior team members.
The ability to work across multiple products under development by multiple small teams is highly desirable.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
