Position Description

Dynetics is seeking a talented Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will support the design of structural and mechanical systems for ground-based target systems and structures to support various test activities. Additional responsibilities will include working closely with the design activity to refine mechanical designs based upon the stress analysis results and produce the data and drawings required for technical data packages. Candidate will also be required to lead and participate in proposals, budget forecasting, project scheduling, staffing of projects and other leadership roles in addition to design activities.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Candidate must have at least eight (8) years of demonstrated experience with technical project leadership and design (or structural analysis) of aerospace and DOD hardware programs.

Candidate must be able to write technical reports and to present results to a multi-disciplined team.

Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

 

Other Qualifications

Preference will be shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge with:

  • Leadership of cross-functional teams
  • Experience with scheduling
  • Tracking project costs
  • Knowledge of mechanical/electrical design
  • Knowledge of preparation of all levels of technical drawing packages
  • Mechanical design utilizing Creo or Solidworks
  • Stress analysis utilizing Femap/Patran/Nastran

 

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Candidate must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
