In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) contract in the near future, Dynetics Space System Division is seeking qualified engineers and analysts to support NASA programs; including the history-making Human Landing System that will put the first woman and next man on the Moon. We are seeking a talented Materials and Process Engineers to join a diverse team in support of the development of a Human Lander System that will take us back to the surface of the Moon by 2024.
The Materials Engineer will primarily support design and development projects for space systems. The individual will be responsible for specification and selection of materials for use in composite and metallic structural systems for space applications and will apply structured assessments to diverse and complex materials usage to aid in successful hardware development. Responsibilities will include significant interactions with customer M&P organizations, assurance of proper material selection, and tight coordination with internal and supplier design activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in an Engineering field or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
Candidate must have at least two (2) years of directly applicable experience, in the aerospace or spaceflight industry.
Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of NASA (NASA-STD-6016, NASA-STD-6008) standards.
Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of DoD/industry Materials & Process standards.
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Materials Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
Candidate must be a US Citizen.
Candidate must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
