Position Description

In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) contract in the near future, Dynetics Space System Division is seeking qualified engineers and analysts to support NASA programs; including the history-making Human Landing System that will put the first woman and next man on the Moon. We are seeking a talented Quality Lead to join a diverse team in support of the development of a Human Lander System that will take us back to the surface of the Moon by 2024.

Dynetics is seeking an experienced Quality Leader to support aerospace programs. Candidate will develop, implement, and perform product quality standards, operating procedures, and metrics to support the aerospace programs. Candidate will work with the project manager, engineers, and technicians to ensure expectations of quality control requirements are understood and executed. This role will help develop and implement Dynetics Quality Management System requirements into daily activities in support of the program leadership.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing aerospace product’s daily quality activities,
  • Performing Quality Planning for product specific inspections including receiving inspection.
  • Collaboration with DCMA and NASA Quality organizations as required
  • Development and execution of Non-Conforming Material process and Material Review Board activities
  • Supporting customer flow-downs to vendors/suppliers
  • Performing vendor/supplier audits
  • Plan staffing needs for Quality inspection support

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in an Engineering field or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university AND have at least five (5) years of applicable quality engineering experience.

In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of ten (10) years of applicable quality engineering experience is required.

Candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience serving in a quality role in a production environment.

Candidate must have experience writing work instructions, procedures, and implementing QMS documentation.

Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material and Material Review Boards.

Candidate must have led teams performing failure analysis, identifying root cause and implementing corrective actions.

Candidate must be able to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including First Article Inspection documentation.

Candidate must have experience managing a product’s quality records, retention of quality records, and traceability.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience in evaluating suppliers’ quality processes.

Candidate must demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Candidate must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Travel is required, typically no more than 25% (one week per month).

Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

 

Other Qualifications

Preference will be shown to candidates who have experience and/or knowledge of the following:

  • AS9100 QMS experience
  • AS9102 FAI documentation development experience

 

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Candidate must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
