Position Description

In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) contract in the near future, Dynetics Space Systems Division is seeking qualified engineers and analysts to support NASA programs including HLS that will put the first woman and next man on the Moon. We are seeking project engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, electrical/mechanical engineers, stress/structural engineers, and analysts to join a diverse team in support of the development of a Human Lander System that will take us back to the surface of the Moon by 2024.

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to work with our team in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will cover Reliability engineering and analysis to support aerospace programs.

The Reliability Engineer will perform most tasks necessary to ensure the identification and documentation of failure modes within a system using various analysis tools and techniques (with minimal direction). Candidate will be expected to understand the basic elements of Reliability Engineering to include FMEA, FMECA, Reliability Analysis, Hazard Analyses, causal analyses, documentation, tracking and implementing, and Risk management (in terms of severity and likelihood).

Analyses performed include, but are not limited to:

  • Fault Tree Analyses
  • Hazard Analyses
  • Risk assessments

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform Reliability analysis for project hardware
  • required to develop a FMEA CIL
  • Support design reviews as needed
  • Ancillary duties may include Hazard Analysis



Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Candidate must have at least eight (8) years of Reliability experience.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.


Other Qualifications

Preferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:

  • Familiar with NASA and military standards
  • Ability to prepare high level technical reviews and presentations
  • Prior related experience with NASA programs
  • Experience in Risk Management
  • Knowledge of System Safety fundamentals


Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Candidate must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
