Advanced Materials Production Engineering is seeking a skilled Opto-Electronics Technician to support the production of advanced laser-based sensors for NASA and other customers and to provide technical support for research projects. This includes independent setup, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, assemblies or integrated systems. The position will require consistent exercise of discretion and judgement in work performance, as well as working closely with engineers and other technicians in a team environment. Candidates should have some experience reviewing and understanding schematics and circuit designs and the use of basic electronics test equipment.
Must have a High School diploma or GED with 10+ years experience in electrical/electronics assembly, test, or troubleshooting optical related components
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
Preferred candidates will also meet some of the following:
•Experience in troubleshooting and repair of electronics circuit cards.
•Experience with electronics assembly and mechanical integration.
•Experience with optical components and assemblies.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
