Dynetics Technical Solutions, Inc. (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, Inc. The Strategic Programs office is seeking a qualified Mechanical Stress Analyst for its Hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The successful candidate will serve as a Mechanical Stress Analyst that will handle all aspects of mechanical structures design analysis for Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB) and mechanical ground support equipment. The candidate will support stress analysis of structural and mechanical systems and support various test activities. The position requires use of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools to produce models, perform analysis, calculations, data reduction, and correlate test results for structures and/or structural dynamics. This analysis will include detailed stress analyses utilizing standard industry programs. Additional responsibilities will include working closely with the design activity to refine mechanical designs based upon the stress analysis results.
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required. Candidate should have at least 5+ years of relevant experience.
Candidate is required to have proven working knowledge with any of the commercial finite element analysis tools (e.g. FEMAP/NX NASTRAN, PATRAN/MSC NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.).
The following skills/abilities are desired:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with bolted joint and weld analysis
Dynamics analysis (modal, response spectrum, vibration)
Mechanism analysis (using MSC.ADAMS, Matlab/Simulink, etc.)
Structural analysis on composite parts
Advanced structural analysis techniques (Linear contact FEA, Non-linear FEA, Application of non-linear material properties to hand analysis, Integrated multi-physics analysis)
Mechanical design using CREO 3D CAD Software
Knowledge of ASME drawing standards
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
The ideal candidate would have experience related to design and or test of missile structural components, mechanical ground support equipment, and have a current DoD Secret clearance.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
