Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, has been selected by NASA to participate in the development and demonstration of a Human Landing System (HLS). Dynetics is seeking project engineers, systems engineers, mechanical design engineers, electrical engineers, structural and thermal analysts, manufacturing engineers, test engineers, technicians, and operators to join a diverse team in support of the development of the HLS that will carry the first woman and next man to the Moon by 2024.

Dynetics is seeking a talented Systems Engineering and Integration Structural/Mechanical Lead to join a diverse, highly skilled team to create unique solutions for complex problems involving space systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective intelligence, engineering, and scientific solutions.

The Systems Engineering and Integration Structural/Mechanical Lead will support the Dynetics Space Systems Division with development of HLS with primary responsibility for leading the systems engineering and integration (SE&I) of the structural and mechanical systems/subsystems. Task include but not limited to requirements identification, management, and verification; risk identification, tracking, and mitigation; and oversight of the structural design process. The candidate will work in a team environment to support conceptual design through product implementation.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Candidate must have at least five (5) years of SE&I and/or Mechanical experience with hardware development and design.

Candidate must have experience leading in structural design, systems engineering/integration on a project or projects requiring requirements and derived-requirements development and tracking, development of hardware specifications, and flight hardware integration.

Candidate must have background and working knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines:

  • Structures and Mechanisms
  • Assembly, Integration, and Test (Production Processes)

Candidate must be able to write clear, concise, and comprehensive technical reports and present results to multi-disciplinary teams and customer stakeholders.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating both verbally and in writing.

Candidate must be able to write technical reports and to present results to a multi-disciplined team.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

 

Other Qualifications

Preference will be shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Preference will be shown to candidates who have experience and/or knowledge of the following:

  • NASA, DoD, or other aerospace development projects
  • Integration of environmental, mechanical, and/or electrical hardware systems for NASA, DoD, or commercial programs
  • NASA systems engineering practices and processes
  • Human rating of space vehicles
  • Working as part of multi-company and multi-organizational development teams
  • Performing as an individual contributor within a short time period
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool suite

Project planning and scheduling using Microsoft Project

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Candidate must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
