This position is with Dynetics Technical Solutions, Inc. (DTS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dynetics, DTS is seeking a talented Process Development Engineer to join the Advanced Materials group to support a variety of activities focused on the development of novel technologies and the transition of those technologies from the laboratory to the marketplace. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
A successful candidate would be capable of engaging in multidisciplinary problem-solving activities as a part of a diverse team in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Additionally, a successful candidate would be comfortable working on tasks outside of their core skill set.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing material development work, participating in design process for various applications; optimizing manufacturing systems, methods and processes for the development of a variety of materials and technologies.
Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field is required.
Along with a minimum of 2 years working hands on experience in an experimental laboratory and/or rapid prototyping setting on projects related to materials/chemical process development, processing equipment design/integration/operation and process characterization.
Mechanically inclined/comfortable assembling and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
Must be comfortable around and capable of operating safely in the presence of hazardous materials, high voltage, high powered lasers, etc.
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines, and the pressure of handling multiple projects and assignments.
Must be willing to take ownership, enjoy taking on new challenges, have the ability to overcome technical barriers, and be self-motivated.
Masters Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field is preferred with 5+ years hands on experience.
Strong work ethic and a positive team player
Experience participating in the generation of technical documents, proposal or report writing is a required
Experience working with and developing processes for safe handling of hazardous materials is desired.
Experience using programming language such as Python or MatLab to analyze data or interact with hardware is desired.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance
