Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented RF Communications Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The RF Communications Engineer will join our team of engineers to perform analysis and study to advise our DOD customers with issues relating to the future of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) communications systems. Our team provides detailed technical and academic counsel for government product offices in the domain of RF communications gear to aid in product improvement and acquisitions. This ensures that our customers can maximize capability in a cost-effective manner as new, advanced communications capabilities are sought out.  Support of customers involves lab test, analysis, field test, and detailed trade studies, debugging, and report generation, all applied to RF communication systems. 





Basic Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.2 or higher GPA.  0-3 years of experience in RF, digital, or IP networked communications. 

-Hands-on test equipment experience (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope)

-Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

-Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

-Preference shown to candidates who possess a Technical Degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

-Preferred candidates will also meet some of the following:

-Familiarity with communications data links for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance

-Unmanned systems data links familiarity

-SATCOM and LOS communications

-Frequency management planning

-Spread spectrum concepts (e.g. DSSS, processing gain)

-Networked data links (e.g. CDMA/TDMA, MANET)

-Digital Signal Processing and signal detection techniques

-Link Budget Analysis

-Masters degree in a relevant field

-Experience leading a team, or desire to do so in the future is a plus.

-Experience in the project management domain is a plus.


Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
