Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented mid to senior level Software Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The position involves joining a team whose responsibility is to create software that trains our armed forces to operate an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS). Direct communication with customers, end users, and team members occur on a regular basis.

The team follows Agile software development practices, shares a passion for solving complex problems, delivering exceptional software, improving software development processes, and exceeding customer expectations.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. A candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree must have 5 years of relevant experience or 3 years of experience with a Master’s Degree. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of C#, .NET, C++, or Java as well as data structures, object-oriented design, and effective unit and software integration testing.
Candidate must have experience developing and/or integrating distributed system software components with an understanding of network protocols, concurrency, and asynchronous communication.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following are a plus:
- Agile software methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
- .NET technologies such as WCF and WPF
- Modern C++ (e.g., C++11, C++17)
- Git and Azure DevOps Server
- Reverse engineering and debugging
- Design patterns
- Socket-based communication protocols (e.g., DIS, CIGI)
Examples of programming completed as part of the candidate’s undergraduate or graduate degree program, or as developed and maintained for hobby/recreational purposes, are highly desired for review and evaluation (e.g., links to personal GitHub account are acceptable).
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
