As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be a project engineer working in the Systems Engineering and Integration IPT on the Concept of Operations team for the HLS program. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the Human Lander System. You will be proactively involved in inter-organizational and outside customer interactions. This position will directly impact the future of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe human spaceﬂight to the moon.
- Support the development of specifications, functional requirements and management of team wide inputs to maintain a current Concept of Operations
- Perform and document trade studies and functional decomposition that support the allocation of system requirements to lower-level specifications
- Succinctly document results to reflect current configuration and capabilities
- Support the definition and maintenance of the system interface requirements and interface control documents.
Possess a Bachelor's of Science in in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
3+ years of proven experience in systems engineering of aerospace systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, multifaceted work environment.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office software tools.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle.
Experience with human spaceflight or high performance aircraft systems.
Solid understanding of data management software (Windchill, DOORS).
Experience working with U.S. Government space agencies (e.g. NASA, AFRL, DARPA).
Experience across the product life cycle (pre-conceptual design through field support).
Familiarity with version control (e.g. Agile/git/gitlab, subversion).
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
